Jazz Festival Timeline
October 6, 2009 (Tuesday)- Online registration for schools begins at 9:00 a.m.
November 6,
2009 (Friday)- FINAL NUMBER
OF TICKETS YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR BY NOVEMBER 20.
November 9, 2008 (Monday)- Participation fees due from schools. Schools not paying by that date
will be replaced by a band on the waiting list.
PARTICIPATION
FEES-
There are two
participation fees for high school or junior high BIG BANDS, depending on
where you perform.
- $250
fee
to help cover your ensemble’s clinic expenses with televised
and auditorium performances if you perform on stage.
OR
- $225 fee
to help cover your ensemble's clinic expenses if you perform other
than on stage.
NOTE: Ensembles
that withdraw after JANUARY 4, 2010, will forfeit their entire entrance
fee.
Nov. 20, 2009 (Friday)- ABSOLUTE deadline for evening concert ticket payments from
participating
schools. Participant tickets for evening concert are $20 each. (Each school
gets a complimentary ticket for the director.) Schools not ordering
tickets by that date run the risk of not sitting together, or not
receiving evening concert tickets at all.
December 3, 2009 (Friday)- Remaining tickets for the 2010 Jazz Festival Evening Concert go on sale at that night's New Trier FALL JAZZ
CONCERT to the general public for $30 each (when purchased in advance).
January
4, 2010 (Monday)- Last day for a school to withdraw and get a refund of fees. Withdrawal must be e-mailed by midnight.
January 18, 2010 (Monday)- Total numbers due from band directors of their students who plan to
purchase lunch in our cafeteria. (This is necessary for us to make
a bulk food
order.)

January 29, 2010
(Friday)- All forms due
All
bands will use the same stage plot this year to avoid confusion.
February 6, 2010 (Saturday)- 27th Annual Jazz Festival
Note: Guest pro bands are told to finish the evening concert NO LATER than
10:00 p.m.
All festival activities that take place ON STAGE (including the entire
evening concert) will be broadcast LIVE over the INTERNET. Your parents
can watch to see when the concert ends.
